In this pandemic, more than ever, we all need the guarantee of a roof over our heads and food to eat.
But 1.4 million people in the UK have a visa condition called 'No Recourse to Public Funds' - a ban on almost all benefits - which means if they lose their job, they have no way to put food on the table or pay rent.
We're facing an unprecedented financial crisis and still battling a public health emergency. The Government must urgently scrap the 'No Recourse to Public Funds' rule, so no one is excluded from the social safety net simply because of where they were born.
Please write to your MP now, and ask them to stand up for people who've been abandoned in this crisis by signing Early Day Motion 1206: No Recourse to Public Funds.
